Penguin Chillers’ fully submersible Glycol Pumps are designed for reliable temperature control when paired with glycol chillers and circulation tubing. Ideal for systems that cycle on and off, these pumps deliver dependable flow for cooling fermenters, vessels, and temperature-controlled systems without requiring continuous runtime.

Each pump is intended to be paired with an individual pump controller, allowing precise temperature regulation per vessel while the chiller maintains consistent glycol reservoir temperature.

Sizing Recommendations

Actual performance depends on tubing length, vertical lift, and fittings used.

• Up to 2 BBL: Standard Pump

• Up to 4 BBL: XL Pump with 3/8″ tubing

• Up to 10 BBL: XL Pump with 1/2″ tubing

When tested in a typical setup:

• XL pump delivers ~2× the flow using 3/8″ tubing

• XL pump delivers ~4× the flow using 1/2″ tubing

Installation & Use Guidelines

Standard Pump

• Fully submersible

• Place directly in the chiller reservoir

• Not intended for continuous 24/7 operation

XL Pump

• Includes two outlet adapters (use only one, based on tubing size)

• Install fitting on the OUTLET side only

• Do NOT install a fitting on the inlet side

• Fully submersible and placed directly in the reservoir

• Not intended for continuous 24/7 operation

Important Usage Notes

• Designed for cycled operation, not constant runtime

• Suitable for occasional extended runs (up to ~8 hours)

• Continuous long-term operation without cycling will significantly reduce pump lifespan

• Not recommended for draft systems, header line setups, or solenoid-controlled systems requiring constant flow
